Initial project activities included sampling and development of a treatability study for chemical fixation of lead impacted soils.

Project activities included mechanically mixing impacted soil with a Magnesium Sulfate based stabilizing agent chosen based upon the successful treatability study.

Reagent was added utilizing 1 CY super sacks to carefully meter out the appropriate % of reagent by weight and homogenized with a tracked excavator.

All work was done without interrupting rail yard operations or creating fugitive dust common with this type of mixing.

Field treatment was successful in rendering the material Non-RCRA hazardous.
